A Sad Day For Los Angeles
Hello darlings,
So sorry that I’ve been tending to take such long breaks between posts. I really am going to try to be better on that front, I swear.
So, as you probably don’t know, I’m a proud Southern California resident. And, as you do know, I am all for tracking down new music that is different from the normal fluffy crap that litters the airwaves and record stores. So, naturally, my favorite radio station (and really the only station I listened to) was Los Angeles and Orange County’s Indie 103.1.
Indie 103.1 is famous for playing new, cutting edge music for people like me. Sadly, however, they were removed for the airwaves permenantly on Thursday, the fifteenth. What was the reason for this? Well, after years of doing their own thing, they were placed with two options: play the corporate radio game, or flee the frequency. And, being the die hard music lovers that they are, they chose the latter.
I was heartbroken when I heard this news. It just goes to show that us Indie music lovers need to work to save what we love from corporate losers who can shove their Little Wayne CD’s up their asses.
Luckily, Indie 103.1 is still available for listen via the world wide web, the safe haven for all creative outlets. Make sure to stop by and listen today
Peace.
